A buddy pulled the trigger on a crazy clean 95 m3, pictures are obligatory especially next to my 95 C36, and 95 S6 avant. My property makes for some really dramatic shots;

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

The C36 is a new toy for me as well, but the avant is still the fastest of the bunch, and possibly the better handling car if you’ll believe it (lots suspension goodies).

Currently I’m debating on thinning the pack, I’m at 6 cars total, and although my driveway is massive, 6 cars will make it feel cramped.

86 Audi 4000cs Quattro

95 S6 sedan (donor for the 4000cs)

95 S6 Avant (my baby)

95 Merc C36 AMG (current daily)

03 Toyota Camry (wife’s beater)

07 Lexus GS350 (our nice car)

The 4000CS project is one I havent even started, but the S6 sedan runs, so its just a matter of pulling the motor and harness and scrapping the body, after that who knows how long till its in the 4000CS and running again. Winter is coming, and the garage is still a mess from moving in. And on top of all that I still have to teach my self how to rewire the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! so its not just a massive paper weight.

I’m planning on sending heat and plumbing to the garage, this way I can comfortably work through the winter, but that needs to get done before the end of November or its not going to happen till the spring.

I really want an SUV, but that’s not going to happen unless I either consolidate, or sell some stuff off. I’d prefer to keep all my toys.

That's a good lineup. Sell the beater Camry? Would the wife mind taking the nicer car all the time? Sounds like the s6 sedan will get rid of itself once you progress in the Quattro build

Yea, maybe, the issue is she drives the most of the 2 of us, I work 3 miles away from the house, but she has to go into the city 3-4 times a week , I would like to hang on to the GS as long as possible as it is my favorite iteration of that model, so keeping the miles from climbing too fast Is a priority. But we agreed to consider what to do with the camry when the time comes to renew insurance.

Now the issue with the quattro is since Its a project there will be points in which both cars are immobile, and thats my concern. Currently the 4000 isnt even home, its sitting in a lot until I flat bed it to the house. And the garage being only a 2 bay, I would permanently take up the space until it runs, and thats a scary fact as projects never go as smooth as we hope.

Currently we have no kids, but that can quickly change, and I would like to be in a nice place hobby wise or be faced with completely abandoning my endeavors, which is common when family building lol. Lots to do in the next year.

The GS is rock solid afaik to go shit tons of miles so I wouldn’t worry too much about keeping miles off

Btw if you’re ever cruising around Philly and want a clownshoe or E34 to roll with hit me up. Or if you ever sell that C36 cause I really want one someday

I’ll deff keep you in mind! Follow my instagram, I am a bit more active there. (esssix_gmbh)

I’ll also try and remember you’re interested in the C36. Chances are I’ll hold on to that for a little while.

What color is the shoe??

Oxford Green. Both of mine are actually lol. The E34 is the original oxford green and the z3 is oxford green ii . I recently started selling Mercedes so I’m gonna need to add one to the fleet soon for credibility haha. Theres an old 6.9 I see at a shop nearby in desperate need of restoration that I’d love to have money to restore

We need to take pics of the clown shoe with the avant, the colors are pretty close.

You know what! I’ll trade you the C36 for the clown plus cash! LOL do it, you know you want a slush box AMG!

Nah if one of the cars ever had to go it certainly wouldn’t be the clownshoe. She just spent all day yesterday hanging out with ferraris and she was my first real car that was all mine and that I actually wrenched on a bit. I certainly wouldn’t give her and cash away for a compact sedan lol. I’d be happy to take some photos though

Haha I already passed that test when I drove a 500$ Corolla all last winter while I saved up to repair the trunk floor that tore. Once I coughed up the dough to have her welded back up I knew she was a lifer car. In the spring I’m gonna refresh the suspension front and rear and add KW Coils most likely. Also gonna redo the saggy headliner with alcantara and get my drivers seat redone. I have some E36 M3 DS1s with the motorsport stamping that will go on in the spring once the winters come off as well. After that itll be time to chill with that car for a little while and start making the E34 into a nice Alpina copy with wheels, pinstriping and interior touches and some suspension upgrades. Its the 3.0 V8 which doesn’t make a ton of power but its so smooth and sounds so good that I plan on keeping it fairly stock

Nice, beaters make it all worth it lol

Got any pics with the DS1s on? A google image search was inconclusive.

Damn you don’t see any e34s on this side, how’d you find it?

Not yet, i haven’t put them on. I love the style, and when I was a youngin my dad had a white E36 M3 with them so I’ve always wanted them. I bought em last summer and was planning to put them on in the spring until the subframe broke, so now thats been pushed off until this spring. They came without tires which was good anyway because I’d rather just have a truly new set of good rubber on it. I drove all the way out to Ohio for the E34 lol, took me like 8 hours there and 11 back cause it started snowing and the tires had decent tread but were from 2005 lol. Only cost me 4k tho and had only 60k miles (just passed 72 tho now) and shes been awesome. Took her on a roadtrip down south and came back up through the tail of the dragon this summer and it was a blast. Unfortunately tho she needs a new rear bumper and some minor cosmetic work after someone hit it on my street overnight.

This is one with DS2s which look the same except they dont say BMW Motorsport. Only pic I’ve ever seen of one with those wheels though so hopefully I’ll be a little unique

DS2 look like they have more dishness to the center. The DS1s are flatter right? Along with the motorsports logo.

Looks fire in any case, going to pop nice against the green.

Idk I thought they were the same wheel for the longest time so you probably know more than me, but yeah I think they’ll look good and its a better performance option than the 16s the car came with. I do love the ones on it now, but the M3 ones are just too nice. Going from 15" winters to 17" summers is gonna be a funny looking transition though haha

Keeping the rubber fat though right? Do the wheel wells limit you?

I was just planning on going with the OEM tire size for them, idk

That should be good. Maybe do 10 over on the sidewall. Max comfort, I’m also a sucker for fatter tires. Lol I also see it as wheel protection.

Which part of the tire number is the sidewall? The car is lowered a little but I’m sure it would fit. The 5 Series is on 15s with a thick ass tire which I’m definitely a fan of.

https://bimmertips.com/oem-bmw-e36-m3-wheel-opitions-specs/

Its the first wheel listed on this page. What size tire would be your recommendation?

Also, that wagon is dope

Side wall Is a percentage of the tread size, so 235/40/17 = 235 tread width, 40% X width is sidewall, and 17 is the actual wheel.

Play with this calculator to see the deference.

I also take back what I said, do 5 more fore the side wall. Also say you go over in tread width, that will give the wheel an even more meaty look; like a 245/40/17.

Check out this picture that shows it better, notice that the tire is ever so slightly wider then the actual wheel. Its a look thing, and it’ll give your lips some protection (ignore the small side wall though) ;

I appreciate the attempt at an explanation but I’m even more lost than I was haha. These are the tires I’ve been considering purchasing for them.    https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Yokohama&tireModel=S.drive&partnum=34WR7S&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes

I’d like to see the 4000CS. In my experience those pre-90s Audis just do not exist.
